A Crazy Idea about Dark Matter

posted on Sun, 06/12/2011 - 23:17 by theshadow

What if we're approaching this idea of Dark Matter and Energy from the wrong point of view. What if it was all much simpler than we assumed? I will admit upfront I am not a mathematician, a physicist, or an astrophysicist in fact all I have is a B.S. in Computer Science. This is just one crazy idea I had that I wanted to get out on paper before I forgot it.

Say hello to my little friend, Pán!

So recently I had a conversation with a friend who's stationed in Korea about how there isn't much to do and not anything to see. Seeing as any new media to come out takes years to hit a place like South Korea. I felt that this was a pretty sad situation and that our armed forces deserved a little better.

Previously I had heard about the Traveling Terabyte Project but it didn't look like they sent anything to South Korea. So I figured I'd just start my own little deal and send it off to my friend there.

There are times that I forget that the aptitude of the average person isn't all that great, unfortunately in my current position we have a client who isn't the brightest bulb in the lot at times.

The Beginning

Alright, so I'm going to start from the beginning. A while ago I bought a Nook because I really wanted to be able to carry my books with me. At first I was just tossing them in to a My Books off of my ~ directory and had a script to sync them over to my Nook when I had it plugged in. After a while this became tedious and I started to look around for a better solution.

Read how I upgraded my e-book management after the jump.

Now that's comeuppance!

Apparently a would-be suicide bomber failed to meet her objective when the phone wired into her explosive was prematurely triggered by an SMS sent out by her carrier. Reported in this Wired article.

The truly entertaining part of all this is that with a simple toggle switch this could have been avoided.

Why is there a separation between religion and state?

First I will ask my reader(s) to visit and read this article.

Now, I'm sure that many would be willing to jump into the foray and provide their two cents. I'm going to attempt to stand a neutral ground and explain why any sufficiently advanced civilization declares a separation between religion and state. If you don't agree with the ideas posed here you are entitled to your opinion but seeing as this is my personal website I don't really have to listen.
